As result of shelling, Russian military hits fire department, pumping station at occupied ZNPP

KYIV. Aug 11 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian military once again fired at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant (NPP) on Thursday, having hit near the first power unit and damaged the pumping station, as well as the fire station located at the ZNPP site, Energoatom reported.

"The invaders again hit the territory of the nuclear power plant, hitting very close to the first power unit. They damaged the pumping station for domestic wastewater. Extensive smoke was recorded nearby," Energoatom wrote on the Telegram channel on Thursday evening.

It is emphasized that the situation is aggravated, since radiation sources are located in the immediate vicinity of the damaged object, several radiation sensors are damaged.

A few minutes earlier, Energoatom reported that the Russian military fired again at the fire station located on the ZNPP territory and designed to protect it from fires and extinguish them in case of emergency.

"So, the invaders continue to methodically destroy the infrastructure of the nuclear power plant itself, the largest in Ukraine and Europe, its satellite city and emergency services," the company concluded.
