ARMA asks govt to agree on purchase of war bonds to help Armed Forces of Ukraine – MP
KYIV. Aug 25 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) has asked the Cabinet of Ministers to agree on the purchase of war bonds in the amount of UAH 150 million at the expense of the seized funds to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine, MP Halyna Yanchenko (the Servant of the People parliamentary faction).
"ARMA for the first time initiated the purchase of war bonds at the expense of seized funds. And asks the Cabinet of Ministers to agree on the purchase of government bonds in the amount of UAH 150 million. These funds will be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine… Now we are waiting for the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on this matter," Yanchenko wrote on her Telegram channel on Thursday.
Yanchenko said that, according to the law, the National Agency can spend up to 80% of the funds under its management for the purchase of government bonds, and currently ARMA manages about UAH 870 million.
"The fact that a significant part of the seized funds are the assets of sanctioned Russians and the money of traitors transferred to ARMA as part of criminal proceedings is doubly warming the soul," the MP said.
