ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih's coke-chemical division reduces production by 68% in 2022
KYIV. Feb 17 (Interfax-Ukraine) – PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih (Dnipropetrovsk region) at its coke-chemical division reduced production of metallurgical coke by 68.1% in 2022 compared to the previous year, to 922,000 tonnes.
A representative of the company told Interfax-Ukraine that in December the company produced 41,000 tonnes of metallurgical coke.
At the same time, in 2022, production of gross coke with 6% moisture content at the plant amounted to 1.060 million tonnes, including 47,000 tonnes produced in December.
Coke production at ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih in 2021 increased by 9.2% to 2.890 million tonnes, including 250,000 tonnes produced in December.
In 2022, more than 1.4 million tonnes of coal concentrate were supplied to the enterprise, including 469,000 tonnes of domestically produced coal, 390,000 tonnes from Russia (before the war), 65,000 tonnes from Kazakhstan, 54,000 tonnes from Poland, 15,000 tonnes from the Czech Republic, 218,000 tonnes from the USA and 192,000 tonnes from Australia. In December, the plant received 108,000 tonnes of coal, including 72,000 tonnes of domestic coal, 21,000 tonnes from Poland, 11,000 tonnes from the USA and 4,000 tonnes from Australia.
