Appointment of Ukrainian ambassador to Georgia is at final stage – Kuleba
KYIV. Feb 28 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The appointment of the Ukrainian Ambassador to Georgia is now at the final stage, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said.
“When he goes to Georgia, it will really be a question of a political moment, because the presence or absence of an ambassador is always a political signal,” Kuleba said on the air of the national telethon.
The minister said Ukraine, for its part, “did absolutely nothing to spoil relations with Georgia,” but, on the contrary, invested in the development of relations.
“I can say this: if relations between the Ukrainian people and the state of the Georgian people remain invariably fraternal and positive, then we cannot say the same about the government of Georgia. Starting with the case of Saakashvili, who is simply being killed, you need to call a spade a spade…and ending with the general attitude of the Georgian government towards the Russian Federation. There are questions, there are problems, but we have enough channels of communication with them to keep in touch and try to solve problems,” Kuleba said.
