Alstom expects to sign contract for supply of locomotives to Ukrzaliznytsia next month – manager in CEE

KYIV. Sept 24 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The French concern Alstom expects to sign commercial contracts on the supply of 130 electric locomotives to Ukrzaliznytsia in the coming month, Managing Director of Alstom in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) Antonio Moreno said in a blitz interview with Interfax-Ukraine during the TRAKO International Railway Fair in Poland.

"Technical negotiations have been completed. The price is clear. Financing from France has also been agreed. Now we are at the stage of signing the contract. In the coming weeks or a month we will be able to sign it, we are ready," he said.

At the same time, Moreno said that negotiations on this contract have been underway for the third year.

In addition, he said that to date, Alstom has already signed more than 50 non-disclosure agreements with potential suppliers to participate in the company’s projects around the world, not only under the contract for the supply of locomotives.

"Today, we are working with several more Ukrainian suppliers so that they can participate in projects with us, supply us with materials. However, to go with a company like Alstom to other countries for the supply of components and materials, the supplier must have the appropriate quality standards and certificates," he said.
