Almost all NATO and EU countries join training programs for Ukrainian soldiers – Reznikov
KYIV. Oct 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Almost all NATO and EU countries have joined the training programs for Ukrainian soldiers, Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov says.
"In addition to Ramstein, there is also the Copenhagen Donor Conference… Almost all Scandinavian countries joined the training programs there – Norway, Denmark, Sweden, plus the Baltic countries – Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, and now there was a minister defense of Germany, she confirmed it. That is, practically the entire block of NATO and EU countries that are not even included so far [in NATO], like Sweden and Finland, have joined the training programs," Reznikov said at a Forbes press conference "Without rose-colored glasses. Business and state during war" on Thursday.
The Minister specified that there are also specific training programs for Ukrainian artillerymen, specific projects and programs for special operations forces.
"Only the British program provides for the training of our recruits – 30,000 people. Now the training period for our first 10,000 people is ending. And our British partners are not just teaching them all the basics at the training ground, including tactical medicine, our military will return from there dressed with protection systems: helmet, body armor, first aid kit, etc. – everything except small arms, because we will already provide weapons," Reznikov said.
In addition, he added that Ukraine also had confirmation from Poland and Slovakia that battalion-level training projects would be carried out.
