Almost 93% of teachers administered one dose of vaccine against COVID-19, more than 76% have two doses – Shkarlet

KYIV. Nov 8 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Almost 93% of Ukrainian teachers have already been vaccinated against the coronavirus disease COVID-19 with one dose of the vaccine, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine has said.

"According to operational data, on November 8, 2021, almost 93% of school workers were vaccinated with at least one dose of COVID-19. More than 492,000 workers of general secondary education institutions, or 76.2%, were vaccinated with two doses," the press service of the Ministry of Education said.

It is noted that the largest number of school workers vaccinated with at least one dose is demonstrated by: Khmelnytsky region – 99%; Mykolaiv – 97.5%; Kyiv – 97.4%; Kharkiv – 96.8%; and Donetsk – 96%.

"More than 7,003 schools operate on distance mode of education. Most of these schools are in Odesa region – 668 and Volyn – 547. At the same time, some schools that fell into the ‘red’ zone reached a vaccination rate of 100% among teachers , and work as usual – there are almost 2,007 of them," the message says.

In addition, there are almost a thousand schools on vacation, most of all in Kharkiv – 285, Rivne – 213 and Mykolaiv regions – 113. Also, more than 5,003 schools continue to work offline. The record number of such schools are recorded in Vinnytsia region – 640, Ternopil region – 632, and Zakarpattia region – 575.
