All Ukraine's ATO/JFO veterans being in line to improve their living conditions to receive apartments in 2022 – Zelensky

KYIV. Dec 6 (Interfax-Ukraine) – All veterans of the Anti-Terrorist Operation (ATO) and the Joint Force Operation (JFO) in eastern Ukraine, who are in line for housing, will receive their apartments in 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said.

"Next year, for the first time since the beginning of 2014, we will completely close the line for apartments for all war veterans in eastern Ukraine," Zelensky said during a speech at the celebration of the Day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in Kharkiv.

He said that immediately after that, the process of allocating housing for other Ukrainian servicemen will start.

At 18.00 in Kharkiv, Kyiv, Kramatorsk, Lviv, Odesa and the military town of Ozerne in Zhytomyr region, celebrations started at the same time on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the participation of President of Ukraine Zelensky, the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

As part of the celebration, a teleconference was organized between these settlements. Zelensky took part in ceremonies in Kharkiv. During the celebration, demonstrations of the latest weapons and military equipment were held, ceremonies were held for the presentation of battle flags and honorary names to military units, and the awarding of state awards to servicemen.

There are also performances by military bands and other entertainment events.
