All invaders’ attempts to advance reflected – General Staff

KYIV. Aug 15 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The Russian occupiers tried to advance in the directions of Ivano-Daryivka, Vyemka and Vesele in Kramatorsk direction, but they failed completely and randomly retreated to previously occupied positions, according to operational information on the Russian invasion as of 18.00 Monday, published on the Facebook page of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In Kharkiv direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to break through the defense of the Ukrainian troops in the direction of Kozacha Lopan – Udy. "The Ukrainian soldiers met the invaders harshly and pushed them back," the summary says.

In Bakhmut direction, the enemy attempted assault operations from the area of the Vuhlehirsk thermal power plant in the direction of the village of Vershyna, but suffered losses and withdrew. In Sloviansk direction, the enemy unsuccessfully tried to push back the Ukrainian defenders in the areas of Hrushevakha, Krasnopillia, Asiyivka and Mazanivka, and then led an assault in the direction of Dovhenke – Mazanivka, but unsuccessfully and also withdrew.

"In Avdiyivka direction… the enemy unsuccessfully tried to improve the tactical situation in the direction of Staromykhailivka and Nevelske. In Novopavlivka and Zaporizhia directions… the invaders tried to advance in the directions of Slavne–Novomykhailivka, Solodke – Vodiane, Solodke–Volodymyrivka, Yehorivka – Pavlivka. We received a tough rebuff, suffered losses and rolled back," the General Staff said.

From tanks, barrel and rocket artillery, the enemy is firing on Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Bakhmut, Avdiyivka, Novopavlivka, Zaporizhia and Pivdenno-Buzke directions. In all these directions, the occupiers carried out air strikes. In Siverske direction, the enemy fired from the barrel artillery from the territory of the Russian Federation at the border villages of Sumy region.

"In Volyn and Polissia, units of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus carry out tasks to strengthen the protection of the Belarusian-Ukrainian border in Brest and Gomel regions. Measures to check the combat readiness of the armed forces of Belarus are continuing. Approximately, this will last until August 20 of this year. The threat of missile and air strikes by the enemy from the territory and airspace of the Republic of Belarus remains," the report says.

In the Black Sea and Azov sea operational zones, the enemy’s naval grouping focuses its main efforts on reconnaissance, blocking civilian shipping in the north-western part of the Black Sea and defeating military facilities and infrastructure elements deep in the territory of Ukraine. "Three carriers of sea-based cruise missiles of Caliber type are ready for the use of high-precision weapons," the General Staff reported.
