Agrotrade land bank completely cleared of mines

KYIV. May 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The agricultural cluster of the Agrotrade agricultural group in Chernihiv region has been finally cleared of mines and ammunition, left by Russian troops, that have been found on 9,500 hectares out of 10,000 hectares of its land bank in the region.

"We were worried that we would not be able to start field work on time, but thanks to the well-coordinated work of the military and our workers, we managed to clear the fields of shells as soon as possible. Today, our agricultural equipment is already working on them," the agricultural holding quotes its director of the agro-industrial department, Oleksandr Ovsianyk, on Facebook.

To date, the land bank of Agrotrade has been completely cleared of shells, the employees of its Chernihiv cluster have already completed the sowing of spring wheat and provide protective measures for winter wheat and rapeseeds.

Agrotrade Group is a vertically integrated holding of a full agro-industrial cycle (production, processing, storage and trade in agricultural products) with a land bank of 71,000 hectares in Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Kharkiv regions. Profile crops are sunflower, corn, winter wheat, soybeans and rapeseeds. It has its own network of elevators with a storage capacity of 570,000 tonnes.

The agricultural holding produces hybrids of seeds of corn and sunflower, barley, and winter wheat. In 2014, a seed plant with a capacity of 20,000 tonnes of seeds per year was built on the basis of the Kolos seed farm (Kharkiv region). In 2018, Agrotrade launched its own brand Agroseeds on the market.

Since 2016, the holding has been engaged in organic farming, for which it uses 2,500 hectares of land.
