Agricultural holding Continental starts spring field work
KYIV. March 1 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Agricultural holding Continental Farmers Group began the production season of 2023 with top dressing of winter crops, for which 79,600 hectares were allocated this season, its website reported on Wednesday.
“Operating activities are moving according to plan. The weather contributed to the timely start of field work, which we traditionally started with top dressing with nitrogen fertilizers. If we talk about technological processes this season, then we, of course, take into account market trends and partially revised the plant protection and nutrition systems, however in general, the planned indicators of crop yields are set at last year’s level,” the holding quotes its operating director, Vitaliy Stavnichuk.
According to him, the crops of winter wheat, barley and rapeseed of the group are in good condition, and low temperatures in mid-February did not have a critical impact on crops. Thus, the company expects successful dynamics of vegetation processes in the current season.
It is specified that the holding was preparing for the new production season in advance, and last year it purchased the means necessary for carrying out the planned field work, including 73,000 tonnes of fertilizer. Production subdivisions of Continetal are also provided with means of protection and seeds for the future sowing season.
Agroholding Mriya and CFG, united under the name Continental Farmers Group, have been operating as a single business since November 2018, when Mriya entered into a deal with international investor Salic UK to sell assets.
Salic was founded in 2012. Its sole shareholder is the State Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia, which invests in production of agricultural and livestock products.
