Agrarians receive UAH 478.8 mln in compensation for interest on loans in July – Agriculture Ministry
KYIV. Aug 30 (Interfax-Ukraine) – More than 2,600 borrowers from the agro-industrial complex received UAH 478.8 million from the state budget in July as part of the partial compensation of interest for using loans, the total amount of payments since the beginning of the year reached about UAH 565 million, while in general for 2021 some UAH 1.2 billion of state support was allocated, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported on the website.
These funds will be received by more than 2,600 borrowers who have applied to authorized banks (37 financial institutions), which signed a memorandum on general principles of cooperation with the Ministry of Economy.
According to the ministry, the total amount of credits subject to compensation is UAH 27 billion, the interest for the use of which is subject to partial compensation from the state budget. Of the total amount of loans subject to partial compensation, short-term loans accounted for 39.6% (UAH 10.7 billion), medium-term – 37.4% (UAH 10.1 billion), long-term – 23% (UAH 6.2 billion).
The Ministry of Agrarian Policy clarified that the average interest rates of banks, to which economic entities of the agro-industrial complex attracted loans, amounted to 14-16% per annum.
It is recalled that in 2021, some UAH 1.2 billion is provided for financial support of events in the agro-industrial complex for partial compensation of interest on loans. At the same time, in January-July, 47.1% of the plan was actually used.
