AFU repels enemy attacks near 14 settlements – General Staff
KYIV. Jan 19 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Over the past day, the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled enemy attacks in the area of 14 settlements in Donbas. The Ukrainian military inflicted 16 strikes on the concentration of invaders and their equipment, a Ka-52 helicopter and a Merlin-VR UAV were shot down, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said.
"Over the past day, units of the Defense Forces of Ukraine repelled the attacks of the occupiers in the areas of the settlements of Bilohorivka, Luhansk region and Terny, Verkhniokamianske, Soledar, Sil, Krasna Hora, Bakhmut, Klischivka, Kurdiumivka, Vodiane, Maryinka and Paraskovyivka, Donetsk region," the AFU said in the summary on Thursday morning.
It is also noted that Ukrainian aviation over the past day delivered 13 strikes on enemy concentration areas and three on the positions of anti-aircraft missile systems of the occupiers.
"An enemy Ka-52 helicopter and a Merlin-VR UAV were shot down," the General Staff said.
The missile and artillery units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces hit three command posts, five concentration areas of the invaders, one ammunition depot and two other important enemy targets per day.
