AFU call on media to stop manipulating headlines, issuing groundless 'victorious' news about transfer of Slovak, Polish MiG aircraft to Ukraine
KYIV. Apr 4 (Interfax-Ukraine) – Spokesman for the Ukrainian Air Force Yuriy Ihnat has called on media representatives to stop manipulating headlines and issue groundless “victorious” news about the transfer of Slovak and Polish MiG aircraft to Ukraine.
“Dear media representatives! I am asking you to stop manipulating headlines, issuing groundless ‘victorious news’ about the transfer of Slovak and Polish MiG aircraft, due to which, I am quoting, ‘it became possible to equip three aircraft brigades’,” he said in a statement on the Telegram channel of the Air Force on Tuesday.
Ihnat emphasized that the Ukrainian Air Force has got five aircraft brigades, three of which are equipped with MiG-29 aircraft.
According to him, the transfer of Polish and Slovak MiG-29 aircraft will slightly improve the capacities of the Air Force’s fighter aircraft for the implementation of the current combat tasks, but “it in no case resolves the issues of the counteroffensive, victory, etc.”
“We need modern multi-role aircraft with a wide range of weapons in order to gain an edge in the sky and win,” Ihnat said.
