Number of clients in Ukrainian banks up by 10% in 2022 – NBU
KYIV. April 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The number of clients in Ukrainian banks in 2022 increased by 10% to more than 79 million compared to 2021 (72 million), the press service of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, the number of accounts opened by customers last year increased by 12.8%, to UAH 160.2 million versus UAH 142 million in the previous year.
In addition, according to the Central Bank, in 2022, the number of accounts of business entities amounted to 3 million, including 2 million for individual entrepreneurs, and the number of individuals reached 76.3 million.
As noted, more than two thirds of all bank customers are served remotely, including 78% of business entities and 68% of individuals (2.4 million and 51.4 million, respectively).
The NBU also indicated that the total number of accounts that banks service remotely increased by 18.8% in 2022 compared to 2021, and by 73% compared to 2020.
