Zelenskyy, Duda agree on new strong defense assistance package for Ukraine

KYIV. Apr 5 (Interfax-Ukraine) – The presidents of Ukraine and Poland, Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Andrzej Duda, during talks in Warsaw agreed on a new strong defense assistance package for Ukraine.

“We discussed the strengthening of our army. This is very important. Today we discussed and made a decision on a strong defense package that will strengthen our people,” Zelenskyy said at a joint press conference with his Polish counterpart in Warsaw on Wednesday.

“Today we are in Warsaw, but our people are there – in the trenches in Bakhmut, Maryinka, Avdiyivka – the real fighters, men and women, absolutely strong people whom we, unfortunately, lose every day because of Russia,” he said.

The head of state thanked Poland for the decision to send a new package of defense assistance which, according to him, will strengthen Ukrainian defenders and help them protect their lives.

“Because they put their lives at risk for the sake of Ukrainians, but also for the sake of the future life and your children, the children of Europe,” Zelenskyy said.
